Pierre Gagnon was born in Paris and studied Arts in the South of France. He then moved to New York City where he obtained a BFA from Parson School of Design with a Major in Illustration and Sculpture and also attended the Art Student League. He worked as a Textile Designer for two major companies and eighteen years ago moved to Connecticut and opened a French Store called 'Couleur Provence' in Darien, CT with his wife, where some of his work is displayed. Later he became a member of the Silvermine Center for the Arts.

Pierre quotes:"When we put an emphasis on the process and discipline that Arts require, we pay homage to ourselves, the Arts and the messages we were meant to convey".

"Some people associates me with darkness and my answer is, I need to look at the dialogue between light and darkness. That explains my choices of topics dealing with the battles between angels and demons, rigidity and softness, as well as architecture, portraits and all elements related to emotions."

"I find many abandoned places and objects giving me a precarious sense of belonging, where every phase of discoloration is identified to time."
